Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2023. Signed on Aug. 21, 2018.

Shift premium: $75 when employee is sent out as driver trainer (driver may be required to submit written report of observations).

Paid holidays: 10 days.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years.

Medical benefits: Prairie Teamsters Health and Welfare Plan, after 90 days of service. Employer pays 50% plus $55, for $370-per-month cost of plan, employee pays remainder.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, children, parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, grandchildren). Additional day off will be given to attend funeral if it doesn’t take place within those 3 days.

Seniority – recall rights: 12months.

Probationary period: 90 calendar days.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 18months for written reprimands or warning letters for accidents; 12 months for all other violations.

Safety shoes: $175 per year for CSA-approved safety boots.

0 to 2 years: $280 rising 4 steps to $306.05

2+ years to 4 years: $290 rising 4steps to $316.99

4+ years: $305 rising 4 steps to $333.38

Thorhild (Edmonton): $152.50 rising 4 steps to $166.70

Spare-board drivers: $280 rising 4 steps to $306.05

Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 9.3% increase):

Shunter (Calgary): $24.50 rising 4 steps to $26.78

Waste driver: $26.50 rising 4steps to $28.97

Editor’s notes: Licensing: Employee will be reimbursed the cost of a medical examination which the employee has undergone as a requirement for maintaining class 1 Alberta vehicle operator’s licence after 1 year of service. Industry fund: Employer will pay $8 per month per employee to union/industry advancement fund.
