Renewal agreement: Effective July 4, 2017, to Aug. 31, 2019. Signed on July 4, 2017.
Paid holidays: 10 days. 
Vacations with pay: 4% per pay. 
Sick leave: 5 days per semester. 
Bereavement leave: Paid portion of leave will not exceed average weekly contracted hours (1.5 times average weekly hours for extensive travel) for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, same-sex partner, son, daughter, children of employee’s spouse, children of common-law spouse, children of same-sex partner, stepchildren, ward, brother, sister, father, mother). One-half of paid portion of leave will not exceed average weekly contracted hours (1.5 times average weekly hours for extensive travel) for death in extended family (stepfather, stepmother, foster parent, grandchild, grandparent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law).
Probationary period: 1 semester. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 terms of employment — excluding term in which disciplinary letter was issued — or 12-month period, whichever is shorter.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after increase):
TA/RA without bachelor’s degree: $22.33 rising 2 steps to $23
TA/RA with bachelor’s degree: $34.60 rising 2 steps to $36
TA/RA with master’s degree: $38.57 rising 2 steps to $40
Editor’s notes: Labour conferences, conventions, union training: Employer will grant leave without pay (maximum 5 employees at 1 time, maximum 10 employees per contract year) to attend labour conferences or conventions, maximum 1 week in length. 10 hours per semester for union training sessions. Social justice fund: Employer will contribute $0.01 per hour to Public Service Alliance of Canada’s Social Justice Fund and Hardship Fund. Supplemental training allowance: $150 per employee per semester to employee who works as either TA or RA.
