Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2017, to June 30, 2020. Signed on Sept. 15, 2017.
Shift premium: $0.65 per hour (previously $0.60 per hour) for all hours worked on evening shift where majority of hours worked fall between 4 p.m. and 11:59 p.m., except for those employed in food-service operations. $0.65 per hour (previously $0.60 per hour) for all hours worked on evening shift where majority of hours worked fall between 7 p.m. and 11:59 p.m., for those employed in food-service operations. $0.75 per hour (previously $0.70 per hour) for all hours worked on night shift where majority of hours worked fall between midnight and 8 a.m.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 1 day after 1 month, 3 days after 2 months, 4 days after 3 months, 5 days after 4 months, 6 days after 5 months, 8 days after 6 months, 9 days after 7 months, 10 days after 8 months, 11 days after 9 months, 13 days after 10 months, 14 days after 11 months, 15 days after 1 year, 16 days after 6 years, 17 days after 7 years, 18 days after 8 years, 19 days after 9 years, 20 days after 10 years, 21 days after 11 years, 22 days after 12 years, 23 days after 13 years, 24 days after 14 years, 25 days after 15 years. Maximum 5 unused days may be carried forward into following year.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of regularly scheduled hours per day or hours per week. May be taken as time off in lieu within 12 months of being earned. Double time for all work on Sunday or on seventh consecutive day worked.
Meal allowance: If employee works overtime 3 hours or more immediately following employee’s regular shift, employee will be supplied with 1 free meal, maximum $15 per meal or cash. Employees who work extra continuous shift as overtime will given 2 free meals, maximum $15 per meal or cash. $15 per day for each day worked transporting radioactive material off campus during regular lunch period and who are prevented by regulations from transporting lunch in vehicle.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for University of Toronto Dental Care Plan.
Vision: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
Sick leave: 15 weeks after 60 working days of service.
LTD: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employees shall be enrolled in pension plan for members of academic and administrative staff of University of Toronto.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse through marriage, common-law spouse, same-sex partner, parent, child, stepchild, sibling, stepbrother, stepsister, parent-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, guardian, ward).
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at time and one-half regular hourly rate or appropriate overtime rate for all hours worked, whichever is greater.
Probationary period: 90 working days for full-time; 4 months for part-time; 8 months per 12-month period for sessional employees.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for coaching letters; 24 months for disciplinary actions.
