Renewal agreement: Effective Oct. 1, 2018 to May 31, 2021. Signed on Sept. 6, 2018.

Shift premium: Dual-ticket: $3 per hour when employee is required to perform both duties or hired with that intent. $6 per hour for foreman. $3 per hour for lead-hands. $3 per hour for night shift. $1.50 per hour for steward. $1.50 per hour for steward with tool box 1. $1.50 per hour for steward with tool box 2. $1.50 per hour for steward with tool box 3. $2.75 per hour for chief steward with tool box 1. $2.75 per hour for chief steward with tool box 2. $3 per hour for chief steward with tool box 3. $0.25 per hour for all hours worked with first-aid ticket.

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: Employer will consider vacations at times requested by employees and will attempt to grant requested vacation times dependent on business requirements. Employees will receive 6% of base wage rate for all hours worked as vacation pay on each paycheque.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.

Meal allowance: Meal provided by employer for employees who work 12 hours per day.

Medical benefits: CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund, after 350 hours worked.

Dental: 100% coverage, maximum $2,000 per person per year, for basic services. 50% coverage, maximum $2,000 per person per year, for comprehensive services. 50% coverage, maximum $3,000 lifetime maximum, for child younger than 19 for orthodontics.

Vision: $300 per year for children younger than 21; $300 every 2 years for persons older than 21.

STD: Coverage of 60% weekly earnings, maximum $600 per week, payable after first day of accident or hospitalization and 14th day of illness, maximum 119 days (1/14/119).

LTD: Coverage of 60% weekly earnings, maximum $2,600 per month, payable after 119 days.

AD&D: Coverage of $100,000.

Life insurance: Coverage of $100,000.

Pension: Employer will contribute 2%, employee will contribute 2% to union-sponsored group RSP for each employee, for all hours worked.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in family (spouse, common-law spouse, child, legal dependant, mother, father, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparent, grandchild).

Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours of pay at appropriate rate.

Probationary period: 90 calendar days.

Safety shoes: $150 per year. All employees will wear appropriate safety seasonal footwear which is furnished by employee. Safety boots must be CSA-
approved and must be high cuffed (no less than 6 inches).

Uniforms/clothing: All employees will wear CSA-
approved safety hats supplied by employer. All employees will wear CSA-approved non-prescription safety glasses to be made available by employer. Employer will supply
employees with all safety-related equipment (including gloves, non-prescription safety glasses, fire-retardant coveralls, if required).

Tool allowance: All trades employees will supply own tools common to trade. Specialty and power tools will be provided by employer.

Editor’s notes: Driver abstracts: Each employee will be required to produce current driver’s abstract at time of hire. Abstract will be considered current if it is no more than 30 days old and contains 3-year history. Employees must provide initial driver’s abstract at own cost, but should employer require further abstracts they will be paid for by employer. Prescription safety eyewear: Employer will reimburse any employee 50% of cost of prescription safety eyewear, maximum $300, after 600 hours of seniority. Fresh-air hoods: Employer will reimburse welders 50% of cost of fresh-air hoods, maximum $1,000, after 2,000 hours of seniority.
