Collective agreement for 16 housekeeping, maintenance staff: IAM
Members of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), Local 1295 ratified a new collective agreement with Days Inn in London, Ont., on April 4.
The three-year deal provides wage increases each year and improved contract language, said the union.
Other improvements include health-care benefits improved through reduced co-pay, vacation pay will now be paid on a separate cheque and workers will receive increased IAM pension contributions from the employer in the first and second year of the agreement, according to the IAM.
The 16 employees consist of housekeeping and maintenance staff.
The IAM represents workers at nine hotels in Brampton, London, Hamilton, Oakville, Mississauga and Toronto.
