Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2024.

Wage adjustments:

Staff -- Effective July 1, 2023: 1.2%
Faculty – Effective July 1, 2023: 1%

Shift premium: $2.25 per hour for all hours worked on evening and night shifts, including overtime hours

Paid holidays: 14 days.

Vacations with pay: 40 days of annual vacation leave  

Meal allowance: $14 when an employee is required to work three or more hours of overtime immediately prior to or immediately following the completion of their scheduled work day

Dental: 50% employer, 50% employee

Sick leave: Employee shall earn sick leave credits at the rate of 4.33 hours bi-weekly

Life insurance: The Employer will pay fifty percent (50%) of the cost of employee life insurance premiums

Pension: Yukon University Pension Plan

Bereavement leave: special leave with pay upon bereavement (occurring within thirteen (13) months of the death), or imminent bereavement

Seniority – recall rights: 6 months.

Probationary period: Non-faculty: 6 months; Faculty: 10 months

Severance: Employee with one year or more of continuous employment and who is laid off is entitled to severance pay at the time of lay off

Uniforms/clothing: 2 uniforms provided to kitchen workers. $200 clothing allowance for a full-time permanent custodian, custodial night supervisor, or custodial supervisor

Sample rates of pay (current, after increase):

Staff Level 1: $25.37

Staff Level 2: $26.77

Staff Level 3: $28.35

Faculty Level 1: $43.94

Faculty Level 2: $47.52

Faculty Level 3: $51.40

Editor’s notes: An employee who is required to work on a designated paid holiday shall be compensated for hours worked at the rate of time and one-half for the first four hours and double time thereafter. This is in addition to the holiday pay.
