Know an individual or organization doing something innovative, or showing leadership, when it comes to integrating skilled immigrants in the Greater Toronto Area? Nominate them for an IS Award
There's still time to submit nominations for the seventh annual Immigrant Success (IS) Awards.
Each year, the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC) presents the awards to recognize innovation and leadership in integrating skilled immigrants into the Greater Toronto Region labour market. Canadian HR Reporter is a proud partner and sponsor of the awards.
Employers and individuals are invited to apply or submit a nomination by Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at www.isawards.ca.
"Through the IS Awards, we've recognized 29 trailblazers — employers and individuals — who have leveraged the talents of skilled immigrants for business success and implemented best practices to build inclusive and diverse workplaces," said Joan Atlin, interim executive director of TRIEC. "We are looking for this year's innovators who will inspire other employers."
This year, new award categories will shine the light on leading practices among small, medium and large size employers.
"RBC believes that skilled immigrants are vital to the success of our business, as well as Canada's economy and our communities," said Zabeen Hirji, CHRO at RBC, which sponsors the event. "The IS Award winners reflect a deepening acknowledgement of the importance of immigrant talent to addressing Canada's demographic changes and the need for innovation to spur productivity and growth in our economy.”
