Finalists for 2021 HR Awards revealed

The past year has been anything but easy, with COVID-19 upending how we work, rest and play. However, as vaccines roll out and offices tentatively open their doors, a return to something akin to normality seems imminent.

And so, with celebration in mind, it’s finally time to announce the finalists for 8th annual Canadian HR Awards presented by HRD Canada and Canadian HR Reporter. The selection of companies, individuals, and teams this year was outstanding – each of them leaders in their respective fields – making selection for this list incredibly difficult.

The awards showcase the nation’s most outstanding HR teams, leaders and employers for their achievements, leadership and innovation for their achievements, best practices and leadership in the HR profession over the past 12 months.

“Could there ever be a more important time to celebrate HR as a community and as a profession?” says Sharon Robinson, director of HR at Workers' Compensation Board of Nova Scotia and one of the esteemed judges this year.

“The importance of HR as a strategic business partner has been growing over the last couple of decades – but in the last 16 months, during the pandemic, HR has completely stepped up to the table. It’s been HR that’s provided strategic advice – HR that’s navigated the C-suite through unchartered waters.”

Without further ado, here are our Canadian HR Awards 2021 finalists.

Following this finalist stage, our panel of esteemed judges will assess and vote for their favourites in each category – before using a point aggregator system to select our 2021 winners. We would like to thank our readers for the incredible response to the nationwide call for nominations, as well as our esteemed event partners for supporting HR excellence.
