Ontario association offers safety group information seminars

Workshops taking place in Windsor, Ottawa and Mississauga

Employers thinking about joining a safety group can take an upcoming Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA) seminar to find out more about the program.

The Safety Groups program is administered by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). Companies join a group to share best safety practices, pool their experience and help one another with injury prevention programs. Each member firm works to achieve specific objectives and improve their safety performance, according to the IHSA.

The IHSA is hosting three seminars in October to explain how safety groups work and the benefits of participating.

IHSA sponsors three groups (transportation, construction and electrical). Members of these groups have gained access to safety information, which has resulted in strong health and safety programs and WSIB rebate cheques, according to the IHSA.

Companies interested in joining the 2012 Safety Groups program can attend one of the recruitment information seminars listed below. IHSA and WSIB consultants will be at the seminars to answer questions.

Oct. 12 – Windsor
Oct. 18 – Ottawa
Oct. 20 – Mississauga

To register for a seminar, contact Lyndsey Miller at 1 (800) 263-5024 ext. 7939.
