The Canadian Dermatology Association has developed an outdoor worker sun protection program. Employers can download a free poster (right), a sun sensitivity test, tip sheets, templates and more.

Chemical hazards best practices for the health-care industry
WorkSafe Alberta and the provincial government have published volume three of Best Practices for the Assessment and Control of Chemical Hazards. This 178-page document looks at best practice guidelines for occupational health and safety in the health-care industry. It’s designed to be a “summary of practices that have been shown to be successful for health-care workers.”

Ontario unveils workplace violence toolkit

The Ontario government has developed a toolkit and guide to help employers comply with Bill 168, the province’s new workplace violence and harassment legislation which comes into effect on June 15, 2010. It will help employers develop policies and programs, assess risks of workplace violence and identify possible ways to control these risks.
