Review of Saskatchewan’s administration of OHS Act seeking stakeholder feedback

Written submissions due by Sept. 19

Saskatchewan is undergoing a review of the administration of its Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and is looking for stakeholder feedback on occupational health and safety issues.

The review will examine areas including the administration of the act and its regulations and enforcement services.

Stakeholder comment is due by Sept. 19, 2011.

The occupational health and safety council, which advises the minister of labour relations and workplace safety on occupational health and safety matters, including the protection of workers and self-employed persons at work, has nine members and includes representation from labour and employer groups. The council is responsible for receiving submissions from stakeholders and consultations with the stakeholders.

The council is expected to present its review report to the minister of labour relations and workplace safety on Nov. 30, 2011.
