Renewal agreement: Effective March 15, 2019 to Jan. 1, 2021. Ratified on March 15, 2019. Signed on Sept. 16, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Jan. 6, 2018: 0%

Effective Dec. 24, 2018: 0%

Effective Dec. 23, 2019: 1.5%

Shift premium: 5% for employees who perform major duties and responsibilities of higher-rated position for 1 full day or more. 1 additional incremental pay-step in senior pay scale if employee has relieved in senior position for 2 weeks or more during previous year. $1 per hour (previously $0.90 per hour) for employees whose duties begin at or after 10 a.m.

Paid holidays: 12 days, plus one-half day on employee’s last scheduled working day preceding Christmas Day.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 17 years, 6 weeks after 25 years, 7 weeks after 30 years. 1 week may be saved and carried forward, maximum 6 weeks, for employees with 3 or 4 weeks of vacation entitlement; 2 weeks for employees with 5 weeks of entitlement.

Overtime: Double time for all work in excess of normal daily hours, for hours worked on regular days off and for emergency calls. May be taken as time off. Any overtime accumulated and not taken as time off prior to Dec. 31 of each year will be paid out, however any overtime accumulated during December can be carried over into following year.

Medical benefits: Municipal Employees Benefit Association of Calgary (MEBAC

Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan.

Bereavement leave: 7 days for death in immediate family (current spouse (including common-law, same-gender spouse), parent, stepparent, guardian, brother, stepbrother, sister, stepsister, child, stepchild, foster-child, ward, grandparents, stepgrandparents of employee, grandchild, stepgrandchild, related dependant living in household of employee).

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs; 24 months (if vacancy in established position arises in classification in work group formerly reduced, permanent employees previously removed from that classification will be offered opportunity once only).

Call-in pay: Minimum of 2 hours of pay at double time.

Probationary period: 6 months in 1 established position; any accumulation of 10 or more days of absence will be added to 6-month period.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year.

Severance: 2 weeks to start; 4 weeks after 4 years; 5 weeks after 6 years; 6 weeks after 8 years; 8 weeks after 10 years.
