Canada Bread locks out Langley, B.C., bakery workers

Canada Bread locked out Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco, Workers and Grain Millers (BCTGM), Local 468 employees who work in the Langley, B.C., bakery April 1.

Canada Bread met with the BCTGM Local 468 for 11 days during the past three months to negotiate the renewal of their collective agreement, according to the company.

The Langley bakery employs 200 associates, 160 of whom are in the bargaining unit represented by BCTGM Local 468, said Canada Bread.
