Employees ink new deal with Richmond Honda in B.C.

Signing bonus, wage hikes part of contract: IAM

Workers at Richmond Honda — represented by International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), Local Lodge 1857 — ratified a new collective agreement Aug. 21.

The multi-year agreement was ratified by a 91 per cent margin. The agreement provides wages increases of two per cent in first, second and third years respectively and 1.75 in the fourth year, said the union.

Other agreement highlights include:

  • $500 lump sum signing bonus
  • new agreement on work distribution
  • new contract language regarding union representation for disciplinary action

The 45 workers include automotive technicians, service writers, parts personnel, lot attendants, detailers and shuttle drivers.
