About 200 electricians and apprentices from Mapleview Electric voted March 27 to join the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
The employees of Mapleview Electric — based out of Woodbridge, Ont., — were previously members of the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC).
The ballots cast by the Mapleview employees in IBEW’s application to displace CLAC as their bargaining agent were counted at the Ontario Labour Relations Board. The result was an overwhelming vote in favour of IBEW and Local 353 Toronto, said the union.
