'Our seasonable employees play a vital role by supporting our stores during our industry's peak months'
Lowe’s Canada is looking to hire 4,700 full- and part-time seasonal workers and 700 regular employees in preparation for the spring season.
The company is looking for administrative support associates, drivers, sales associates, receiving clerks, stockers, customer service associates, cashiers and lumber yard clerks.
The company will kick off its spring hiring campaign by holding a National Hiring Day in all Lowe’s, RONA and Reno-Depot corporate stores in the country.
"Our seasonal employees play a vital role in our organization by supporting our stores during our industry's peak months, from May to September... We are seeking driven, dynamic, and customer-focused applicants to join our teams," says Marc Macdonald, senior vice-president of human resources at Lowe's Canada. "Applicants will find career opportunities with us that live up to their ambitions as well as plenty of avenues to develop their skills and deepen their knowledge."
Despite the advent of online selling, sales associates are still the most in-demand workers in 2020, according to Randstad Canada. Drivers and receptionists also made the top 10.
Canadian entrepreneurs are also looking to invest more in hiring new talent and in training employees in the first three months of the year, according to the Business Development Bank of Canada.
