And for the first time, interested applicants can use text to land on the application page for a variety of roles or apply directly on the careers page. Jobs are available in e-commerce, fresh food, merchandising and customer experience, along with the warehouse and drivers.

Walmart Canada announced in July it was investing $3.5 billion over the next five years to “generate significant growth and to make the online and in-store shopping experience simpler, faster and more convenient.”

“We're very proud to be able to offer new jobs to Canadians in communities across the country,” says Nabeela Ixtabalan, executive vice president for people and corporate affairs at Walmart Canada.

Back in March, the company also announced it was hiring 10,000 workers to keep up with the demand generated by the pandemic.

Last month, Amazon announced it plans to create 3,500 new corporate and tech jobs at offices in Vancouver and Toronto. The company previously said it is planning to create 2,500 new full-time jobs in Ontario.
